Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)-02

Patient: XXX

Gender: Male

Age: 82

Nationality: United Arab Emirates

Diagnosis: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

An 82-year-old male patient first presented in early March 2023 with progressive generalized weakness, loss of appetite, and a weight loss of approximately 5 kilograms. Upon admission, detailed examinations were performed. A chest CT scan revealed multiple nodules in both lungs, the largest being about 2.5 cm. The largest nodule in the apical segment of the right lower lobe and the largest nodule in the dorsal segment of the left upper lobe both had indistinct margins. After a chest biopsy and pathological examination, the diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was confirmed, with adenocarcinoma present in the dorsal segment of the left upper lobe and the apical segment of the right lower lobe.

The patient subsequently received an NK cell immunotherapy regimen. After the first month of treatment, a follow-up examination showed no significant change in the size of the lung nodules, but the patient's overall symptoms had improved, with reduced weakness and a gradual return of appetite. After the second month of treatment, another chest CT scan showed a clearer margin and slight reduction in size of the nodule in the apical segment of the right lower lobe, and partial necrosis with a more defined outline of the nodule in the dorsal segment of the left upper lobe. Following the third month of treatment, the chest CT showed further reduction in the size of the nodules in both lungs, with the largest nodule now not exceeding 1.5 cm, some absorption of the pulmonary lesions, and marked clinical improvement.

In summary, NK cell immunotherapy has shown good efficacy and tolerability in this 82-year-old male patient with NSCLC, with a significant reduction in lung lesions and substantial improvement in the patient's overall condition. Follow-up and further treatment plans will continue to monitor disease progression and treatment effects.
